Indigo und die vierzig Räuber [collection] : komische Operette in 3 Aufzügen / von Johann Strauss. 1870-1900.

Arranged in eight groups: I. Vocal scores (8). II. Vocal scores-Selections (4). III. Orchestra parts (15). IV. Vocal parts (13). V. Chorus parts (2). VI. Librettos (1). VII. Promptbooks (18 in 29 vols.). VIII. Dialogue parts (123). The vocal scores include a German edition by C.A. Spina (Wien, 187-?), a French edition by Heugel (Paris, 1875?), and "Gems of Indigo," in English, by Wm. A. Pond (New York, 1891). Both the vocal and orchestra parts are manuscript, and most bear the stamp "Property of Rudolph Aronson." The chorus parts, in English, are mimeo manuscript and exist only for soprano/alto. The French libretto was published by Michel Lévy (Paris, 1875). Three of the promptbooks are manuscript German and identify Max Steiner as text author. The remainder are in English and include both typed and handwritten copies representing various alternate titles: Indigo, King Indigo, and Queen Indigo. Various production versions are also represented: the Alhambra version, the Alhambra and Carleton version, the Casino (June 1891 and June 1892) version, and the Henderson adaptation. There is also a holograph promptbook (Leipzig: Aug. Cranz, 1906), in German, for "1001 Nacht" by Leo Stein and Carl Lindau, a revision of "Indigo." Dialogue parts, all in English, represent eleven sets, some handwritten and some typed. Three of these correspond to the Alhambra and Carleton version.
